Shana is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at Adelphi University. She is an evolutionary biologist / behavioral ecologist interested in the hows and the whys of social behavior. She employs a variety of methodologies, including phylogenetic meta-analyses, experimental field work, and theoretical modeling.
Shana received her BA in Human Evolutionary Biology, with a certificate in Mind, Brain and Behavior, from Harvard University in 2011. She received her DPhil in Zoology from the University of Oxford in 2017. Shana joined the Simons Foundation Society of Fellows as a Junior Fellow in 2017 at Columbia University, and became a Stengl-Wyer Fellow in 2020 at the University of Texas at Austin.
